PRACE has announced calls for access to both Tier-0 and Tier-1 systems across Europe. Tier-1 systems range roughly from the speed of ICHEC's Stokes system to systems 5 or so times as fast. Tier-0 systems are significantly bigger and roughly 20-70 times faster than Stokes.

In this call the number of Tier-0 systems has grown from 2 to 6. Irish based researchers who are interested in replying to the call are strongly encouraged to contact ICHEC, which will be happy to advise on to the process.

The deadline for submission of proposals both for Tier-0 and for Tier-1 is 10th January 2012 at 1600 CET.
