Quantum for Good: Venkatesh Kannan Joins Global Leaders at UNICC Event

Last week, Venkatesh Kannan, Associate Director at the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC), spoke at the side event Quantum for Good: Frontier Technology for the SDGs during the Summit of the Future Action Days. 

Organised by the UN International Computing Centre (UNICC), and co-sponsored by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Republic of Namibia, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the World Economic Forum, and Quantum Delta NL, this high-level event focused on the transformative potential of quantum technologies.

Venkatesh contributed to discussions on how quantum technologies can drive breakthroughs in fields such as climate modeling and healthcare. The event emphasised the importance of fostering international cooperation and ensuring equitable access to quantum advancements, with a focus on their transformative impact on addressing global challenges.
