Register Your Interest in Acquiring Components from the National Supercomputer Kay

The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) is pleased to announce a call for expressions of interest for acquiring components from the national supercomputer Kay. From 2018 to 2023, Kay supported over 850 researchers across 23 research-performing organisations and was funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI).

With Kay now decommissioned, the National HPC service has transitioned into an Interim Service, utilising resources from Luxembourg’s national HPC platform MeluXina. ICHEC offers Higher Education Institution (HEIs) the opportunity to acquire its components. The decommissioning process is expected to be completed by early Q3-2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Single Application: Only one application per HEI (or other listed eligible bodies).
  • Institutional Mandate: The lead applicant must have an established institutional mandate.
  • Permanent Staff: The lead applicant must be a permanent staff member.
  • Complete Applications: Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered.

This initiative provides a unique opportunity for HEIs to enhance their computational resources.
