Benjamin Collingwood

Ben graduated from the University of Bristol with a First Class Honours Physics BSc in 2022. Having found the programming modules the most engaging during this degree, he then chose to do a Computer Science MSc again at the University of Bristol. This culminated in a HPC summer project with the title: Developing and benchmarking a multi-level halo-exchange to efficiently communicate between GPUs in a large distributed memory system.

Other than being interested in all things computers, Ben has been an avid boulder for almost a decade, and is looking forward to exploring the Irish countryside after moving here.

Ben was excited to join ICHEC at the start of 2024 as his first foray into professional computational science.
