Sherif holds a Master of Engineering in Communication and Information Technology, Information Security from Nile University, Egypt, having earned a GPA of 3.98/4.0.
Sherif brings in excess of eleven years' experience as a GNU/Linux user, having worked professionally since 2005 both as a GNU/Linux systems administrator and with other open source solutions. He has also been involved with EGLUG, the Egyptian GNU/Linux user group since 2004 providing various kinds of volunteer support to the GNU/Linux community in Egypt.
Prior to joining ICHEC, Sherif held the role of Systems Supervisor / Team Leader of the Core Solutions team at the largest ISP in Egypt. The Core Solutions team was responsible for managing various core services including AAA, DNS, email, backup, storage, DB, provisioning, configuration management, cloud computing and virtualization infrastructure.
Sherif joined ICHEC in November 2014.
